What is 2e=4e-16? I don't understand the steps to get to the answer.

2e = 4e - 16

*subtract 4e from both sides

-2e = -16

*divide both sides by -2

e = 8

The first thing you have to do is combine the 2e and the 4e. to do that you would have to subtract 4e from each side...
2e=4e-16
-4e -4e
----------------
then you get...
-2e=-16
divide by negative two on each side to isolate the variable... and your answer is e=8
