Tent Revivals and Camp Meetings were crucial during the Second Great Awakening as they allowed preachers to travel throughout rural America and convert people into followers without having to have an established parish.

The tents also allowed more people that would traditionally fit in a small rural Church and made it feel like a communal gathering, which ended up attracting even more people to the revivals.
