Sales tax = 7.5%

7.5% of 12.50 = (7.5/100) * 12.5 = 0.075* 12.5 = 0.9375

tax = 0.9

Total pay = price + tax = 12.5 + 0.9375 = 13.4375

Total pay ≈ 13.44
